When

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. —Wayne Dyer

Above: There are cathedrals everywhere for those with eyes to see.

When did you wake up?

When did you realize that there was a lot more than meets the eye?

When did you realize…

That your only security in life was yourself?

That no one was coming to save you?

That you were not immune from history, but living inside of it?

That forever was just a litany of nows?

That here was just there without the T?

That nobody knew anything?

That everyone was just doing as best they could with what they had?

That there was nothing new under the sun?

That everything was a copy of a copy of a copy?

That there was no later?

That this was later?

That you couldn’t spell know without now?

That life was about the six inches in front of your face, not the tiny black mirror in your hands?

That you were judge and jury, plaintiff and defendant, king and jester all in one?

That you were a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock hurtling through space?

That fear was nothing to be afraid of?

That the king and the pawn go in the same box after the game is over?

That the key to life was to know it’s all made up, but that you get to make it up?

That if God brought you to it, He would bring you through it?

That you were enough.

Just now?

Good, there’s still some time.

Get up, get ready, and get back to it.

If not now, when?
